The new power equipment technology research department
 The new power equipment technology research department devotes in carrying on the research and promotion of applications of the key technologies, which are required by large electrical equipments and other power equipments and mainly in evaporative cooling technologies. The main research directions includes: the evaporative cooling technologies of large hydro-generator, large turbine generator, special electrical machine, wind-driven generator, large electromagnetic-separation plant, power transformer, electric power electronic installation and large-scale electrical machinery rotor; evaporative cooling technology combined with superconductivity technology; high power density electrical machinery's research and so on. The research department has the staff of 17 people, including a Chinese Academy of Engineering academician, a researcher and five associate researchers.
