4. Beijing Corona Technology Co. Ltd. , Beijing 100083, China)
Abstract: In direct⁃drive wind generation system, output voltage of generator side converter is limited by DC bus
voltage. In the tracking of MPPT curve, field weakening (FW) control is needed when output reference voltage is
larger than the limitation decided by DC bus voltage. FW control can be realized either by open⁃loop FW or closed⁃
loop FW. The open⁃loop FW is switched by the relationship between generator speed and the transition speed,
while the closed⁃loop FW contains a closed loop controller in which output reference voltage and DC bus voltage are
feedback variables. Two approaches of FW control are analyzed and compared. The comparison result indicates that
closed⁃loop FW is independent of generator parametres, easy to implement in DSP and has more accurate control
performance in steady state, thus the closed⁃loop FW control has better prospect in the industrial application. Simu⁃
lation and expermental verification are carried out in the Matlab and laboratory setup. The results are coincident
with the theoretical analysis.

on emergency demand⁃side response and robust optimization

(School of Electrical Engineering, Northeast Dianli University, Jilin 132012, China)
Abstract: The output of wind farms has volatility and randomness. After wind farms are connected to the grid, the
uncertainty of its output can lead to insufficient power supply, which has an effect on the safe and stable operation
of the power grid. And a series of planning scheme obtained by multi⁃scenario method is not always the comprehen⁃
sive optimal solution. For this sake, emergency demand⁃side response is introduced in transmission network plan⁃
ning. And according to the idea of robust optimization, the comprehensive optimal scheme is determined by the
punishment model to weigh the robustness and feasibility of the strategy and the average variable model to assess the
plan’s risk. Example analysis shows that the introduction of emergency demand⁃side response can effectively re⁃
duce the investment cost of power grid and the amount of line overload, though which need to cut the load and pay
users part of the compensation fees additionally when wind power output is low. And the obtained comprehensive
optimal solution has a better integrated adaptability in probability sense for each scenario. Key words: transmission network planning; wind power integration; multi⁃scenario; emergency demand⁃side re⁃

Abstract: This article aims to prevent and control cascading failures of power grid connecting large⁃scale new ener⁃
gy sources. Based on analysis of the cascading failures mechanism influenced by large⁃scale new energy grid⁃con⁃
nection, a strategy to prevent and control cascading failure was proposed, which can adapt to the massive new ener⁃
gy grid⁃connection. It is based on the DC sensitivity method to identify the critical lines of cascading failures which
is also the first failure, and to calculate generation shift distribution factor (GSDF) matrix, then to adjust the power
of unit according to GSDF matrix. This strategy formulates the adjustment of generators’ active power according to
the sensitivity analysis and to the reverse same⁃amount pairing principle, in order to improve the power flow distri⁃
bution of the system and prevent the occurrence of cascading failures. Finally, the cascading failures mechanism in⁃
fluenced by large⁃scale new energy grid⁃connected is further revealed by simulating the Jiuquan grid, and the strate⁃
gy proposed is validated.

Abstract: Currently, research on micro⁃sources capacity configuration is concentrated on the case of isolated micro⁃
grid. Though configuration results can guarantee the reliability of the system connected or disconnected, the redun⁃
dant investment is increased. In this paper, the operation strategy for the parallel operation of wind/ photovoltaic/
storage microgrid is developed, and the economy model and power supply reliability model are established respec⁃
tively, using multi⁃objective simulated annealing particle swarm optimization algorithm to calculate optimal solution
set of the model. The configuration scheme of the wind power, photovoltaic power and energy storage system is ob⁃
tained. It shows that as compared with the isolated operation, to configure the micro⁃sources capacity relationship of
wind/ photovoltaic/ storage microgrid in view of parallel operation, the investment cost will be decreased obviously
under the same reliability requirement.

Abstract: Gas discharge can be analyzed on macroscopic methods that the mobility of electrons, positive ion and
negative ions is a flow. A two⁃dimensional fluid dynamics model is used to analyze streamer corona discharge mech⁃
anism in SF6 / N2 gas mixtures. The flux corrected transport technique is used to solve fluid equations for charged
particles. The effect of electric field distortion by space charge as time goes is settled by coupling Poisson electric e⁃
quation to the fluid equations. During the simulation, it is assumed that the transport coefficients of gas mixtures are
only the function of reduced electric field. The discharge characteristics of parallel plate electrode gap, the coaxial
electrode gap and rod⁃plate electrode gap are compared and analyzed. The simulation results show that streamer co⁃
rona strengthens the electric field between the anode and the streamer corona and weakens the electric field between
the cathode and the streamer. The discharge will continue when the electric field strength in front of streamer is big
enough, or discharge will become stable. Key words: electrode structure; gas mixtures; streamer corona; fluid dynamics; FCT

Abstract: As the current carrying capacity of gas⁃insulated transmission lines is related with temperature, a calcu⁃
lation method of temperature rise based on finite element analysis is proposed. In order to study the effect on the
temperature distribution of GIL by various parameters which are load current, gas pressure, gas type and diameter
of the conductor, this article establishes a two⁃dimensional electromagnetic field analysis model. According to the
fluid dynamics theory, mathematical model of temperature field analysis is given, as well as the solution domain and
the boundary conditions of this model. Using the finite element method solving the given model, temperature distri⁃
bution of GIL can be obtained about different parameters. Under the various circumstances of the load current, gas
pressure, gas type and diameter of the conductor, this paper also analyzes the causes and the impacts on tempera⁃
ture rise of GIL. The result provides a reference design for parameter optimization. Comparing experimental data
and simulation results verifies the validity of the model.

Abstract: In view of the zero drift problem existing in the low⁃pass filter method of the voltage model of stator ob⁃
server, a new method, in which double low⁃pass filters (double⁃LPF) with different cut⁃off frequencies and propor⁃
tion coefficients are used to eliminate the zero drift influence by subtracting the output of the filters in the input e⁃
lectromotive force, is proposed so as to replace pure integration for solving the stator flux. The reason for improved
performance is analyzed theoretically. According to the characteristics of the filters a method for compensation of
amplitude and phase is proposed, and the influence of the parameters of double⁃LPF to flux observation is also ana⁃
lyzed. The validation and effectiveness of the new method are verified by simulations and experiments.

Abstract: Power electronic transformer (PET) is a kind of power transmission equipment combined by power elec⁃
tronic converters and high⁃frequency transformer, which has great application value in the building of Strong Smart
Grid. Hot PET topologies applied to distribution system are classified and their implementations are analyzed and
compared in this paper. It has been indicated that PET has great advantages in reducing its own size and weight,
and power quality regulation, compared with traditional transformer. Especially for the three⁃stage topologies with
DC link, their good controllability can make power electronic transformer achieve more functionality and also pro⁃
vide a channel for the integration of distributed power generation systems, which is the future development direction
of PET. Finally, several key issues in practical application of PET are proposed.

Abstract: Keeping the frequency stable is the basic requirement for the normal operation of power system. At pres⁃
ent, the appropriate energy storage has been promising as an auxiliary resource for power system frequency regula⁃
tion. In order to compare the effects of different energy storage power supplies on the frequency regulation, the clas⁃

are analyzed, including battery energy storage system (BESS), capacitor energy storage system (CES) and super⁃
conducting magnetic energy storage system (SMES). Fixed power control (PQ control) is applied in the auxiliary
service of ESS in frequency regulation. Two different kinds of the load perturbance analysis are performed to com⁃

(Electric and Electronic Engineering College, North China Electric Power University, Beijing 102206, China)
Abstract: Harmonic phenomena analysis and control are significant aspects for ensuring normal operation of high
voltage direct current (HVDC) systems. An elaborate understanding of harmonic measurement must be developed
to find the most suitable measuring method. Direct current voltage transformer (DCVT) is an important apparatus to
measure voltage in direct current transmission systems. This paper attempts to introduce and analyze the character⁃
istics of the main components of resistive⁃capacitive voltage transformer such as coaxial cable, A/ D and D/ A con⁃
verter, and optical coupler, for measuring harmonic voltage. The stray capacitance of voltage divider was analyzed
in detail to determine its effects on the voltage transformer’s frequency characteristic. The analysis indicates that
selecting an appropriate resistor⁃shunt capacitance can reduce the influence of stray capacitance. Furthermore, the
divider’s non⁃ideal components were also analyzed and the analysis showed that choosing good resistors and capaci⁃
tors could reduce the measurement error. Experiment results also showed that resistive⁃capacitive voltage transform⁃
er is quite suitable for harmonic voltage measurement with error less than 0􀆰 2% and bandwidth up to 10 kHz.

Method of coordinated prevention of commutation failure based
on multi⁃agent in MIDC

MA Jing, LIU Tian⁃qi, LI Xing⁃yuan, HU Nan, LI Qian
(School of Electrical Engineering and Information, Sichuan University, Chengdu 610065, China)
Abstract: Commutation failure is one of the common faults of the converter station in high⁃voltage direct current
transmission system. Commutation failure is much more complicated because of the interaction between the convert⁃
er stations in multi⁃infeed HVDC systems, in which concurrent commutation failure can occur with a serious fault.
The function of commutation failure prevention controller is to increase the commutation margin immediately to avoid
commutation failure by decreasing firing angle when the faults of the AC system are detected, while the impact and
importance of interactions are ignored. For multi⁃infeed HVDC system interactions, the method of commutation fail⁃
ure coordinated prevention based on the multi⁃agent system is proposed. In this paper, the multi⁃agency prevention
module is built and applied to the three infeed HVDC systems in PSCAD. The simulation results of the three infeed
HVDC systems show that the multi⁃agency coordination prevention method can be effective in preventing local and
concurrent commutation failure.

Abstract: In order to effectively suppress noise and detect the parameters of harmonics and inter⁃harmonics, a mul⁃
tiple⁃level ensemble empirical mode decomposition (EEMD) and Wigner⁃Ville distribution (WVD) based method
to detect harmonics and inter⁃harmonics is proposed. Using adjustable white noise amplitude, the intrinsic mode
function (IMF) is gained by multiple⁃level EEMD. It can effectively suppress pulse interference and white noise
and accurately detect the harmonics and inter⁃harmonics signals frequency by WVD of each IMF, and then the least
square method is applied to estimate the amplitude of signals, thus the detection of harmonics and inter⁃harmonics
under noises background is implemented. Simulation results show the feasibility and effectiveness of the method.
