(School of Electrical Engineering and Automation, Tianjin University, Tianjin 300072, China)
Abstract: This paper presents an improved DCC (deadbeat current control) method for PMSM (permanent magnet
synchronous motors) in over⁃modulation range. The proposed method can effectively reduce current harmonics and
the torque ripple in the flux⁃weakening over⁃modulation region. A low pass filter is added in the feedback loop of
the deadbeat current controller, and its output can be seen as the compensation of current error. The steady⁃state
errors of the traditional and the improved deadbeat control system with the model parameters inaccuracies are ana⁃
lyzed respectively in this paper. The improved deadbeat current control system can track the reference current with⁃
out static error. The mechanism of the current harmonics rejection of the improved deadbeat control algorithm is
studied in over⁃modulation region. At last, the stability of the improved deadbeat control system is proved. The ex⁃
periments with a 5􀆰 2kW prototype of permanent magnet synchronous motor are carried out. The results show that
the proposed strategy can effectively suppress current harmonics and torque ripple.

(School of Electrical and Information Engineering, Jiangsu University, Zhenjiang 212013, China)
Abstract: Aiming at the characteristics of the air⁃flux density affected by the rotor structures, which leads to the
effect on the radial suspension force, the suspension property of bearingless permanent magnet slice motor
(BPSM), starting from the different rotor structures (surface⁃mounted rotor, surface⁃embedded rotor, Halbach ar⁃
ray rotor and parallel magnetized ring⁃shaped rotor), their basic features, such as mechanical strength, magnetic
field distribution, and etc. were analyzed. Based on the Maxwell stress tensor method, the mathematic model of the
BPSM under any number of pole⁃pairs was proposed. The finite element analysis (FEA) by the software of Ansoft
has shown that the proposed method has a good enough accuracy. Then the relationship between the suspension
force and the current in the suspension windings of the BPSM with different rotor structures is compared and ana⁃
lyzed, and the advantages and disadvantages of the different rotor structures are obtained. Finally the experiments
of the model machine verify the simulation results. The research results can provide a good reference to the parame⁃
ter optimization of the BPSM in the paper.

Abstract: Active Power Factor Correction (APFC) has been widely used in power electronic circuits for it can im⁃
prove the power factor, reduce the harmonic pollution of grid, reduce the conduction loss and save energy. But in
diode rectifier bridge of the conventional PFC circuit there exists a relatively large amount of conduction loss, there⁃
fore many bridgeless PFC circuits have been proposed. This paper focused on a novel converter which has the char⁃
acter of both positive and negative voltage gain by adjusting the duty cycle, thus leaving out the diode rectifier
bridge as the active power factor correction (APFC) circuit, reducing the conduction loss, and raising the efficien⁃
cy. The continuous conduction mode (CCM) operation and the steady state characteristics in both positive and neg⁃
ative voltage gain are analyzed in this paper. Analysis shows that the two⁃inductor bipolar gain converter can a⁃
chieve bipolar voltage gain, and has the characteristic of continuous input current. Experimental platform was built
to verify the correctness of the analysis.

Abstract: For solving the problem that how to control arc current accurately in the process of cutting grid plates, an
arc current reference feedforward composite control strategy was proposed, which was based on the analysis of arc
transfer process and arc model. The external loop of control strategy is current loop, which can control arc current
and achieve the precise control of arc energy. Arc current reference feedforward compensation based on load model
was introduced into voltage inner loop. The voltage loop can quickly establish the arc voltage, which maintains the
arc stable. Simulations and experimental results were given to verify that the proposed control method can respond
quickly between non⁃transferred arc and transferred arc when cutting grid plates, and can achieve the precise control
of arc current simultaneously.

Abstract: Under non⁃uniform insolation conditions, the output power of the PV array will be greatly affected. Bet⁃
ter results can be achieved with distributed MPPT control, but the research about the system⁃level power optimiza⁃
tion is rare. Considering the protection and safety of the systems and based on limiting voltage protection for each
PV module of the PV strings and taking unloading protection for DC bus, the paper analyses the working mecha⁃
nisms of the distributed power optimization control and the algorithm implementation process, and uses the simula⁃
tion to verify this algorithm and compares with centralized MPPT control, and draws a conclusion that the distribu⁃

Abstract: Return voltage measurement is an effective non⁃destructive electrical testing method for diagnosis of oil⁃
paper insulation equipment’s insulation condition, and the oil paper insulation equivalent circuit model based on
return voltage polarization spectrum characteristics is an effective way to analyze insulation aging. Calculating the e⁃
quivalent circuit parameters accurately is the key to establish the equivalent circuit model of oil⁃paper insulation. In
this paper, hybrid intelligent algorithm⁃Particle Swarm Genetic Algorithm is used to solve the polarization parame⁃
ters of the equivalent circuit. Comparing the return voltage polarization spectra obtained by the hybrid intelligent al⁃
gorithm and a single PSO, the results show that polarization spectra obtained by the application of hybrid intelligent
algorithm obtained is better coincident with the testing return voltage polarization spectra, and that shows the feasi⁃
bility and accuracy of using particle swarm genetic algorithm to calculate the equivalent circuit parameters. Mean⁃
while, the paper also discusses the relationship of oil⁃paper insulation aging status and the number of polarization
branches, and the results show that more serious the transformer oil⁃paper insulation deterioration is, and the more
number of the polarization branches exists, the smaller the time constant of the corresponding branch is. At the
same time, combining the number of branches and the largest time constant can assess the condition of oil⁃paper in⁃
sulation.

Guangzhou 510080, China; 2. State Key Laboratory of Electrical Insulation and Power Equipment,
Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an 710049, China)
Abstract: The existing vacuum meter based on Penning magnetron discharging needs vacuum gap greater than
10mm. An experiment is carried on the ionic current characteristics of magnetron discharge in a short gap of 1 -
7mm. Experimental results show that, the ionic current waveform is a trapezoidal wave at 10 -4 Pa rather than a
square wave and the ionic current wave shifts from a trapezoidal to a square wave with the pressure increasing. The
ionic peak current is only affected by electric field and the ionic current pulse width is only affected by magnetic
fields, so that the ionic current charge is affected both by the electric and magnetic fields. The ionic peak current
decreases with the vacuum gap increasing between 1mm and 7mm, and the decreasing rate is of 5%, but it changes
relatively small in the ionic current charge. Lastly, it presents an exponential function between the changes of vacu⁃
um pressure and ionic peak current and charge.

Abstract: To solve the problem of rail ablation is one of the key points in electromagnetic rail technology for its
practical application. Rails and armature current distribution is one of the main factors of ablation. This paper at⁃
tempts to increase the contact area between the rail and the armature to achieve the purpose of improving the current
distribution, and puts forward to a curved rail structure. Without considering velocity skin effect, this paper studies
the current density distribution by using the finite element method. The results showed that, a multi⁃arc and arc rail
structure can effectively change the current density distribution on the contact surface between armature and rails,
and in the actual launching process it can be used to reduce the erosion of armature rail effectively.

Abstract: In order to study the surface electric field distribution of basin⁃type insulator with metal particles existed
in the gas insulated switchgear (GIS) and its influence on surface flashover, the 3D structure model of basin⁃type
insulator was established in this paper. The electric field distribution of basin⁃type insulator with metal particles ex⁃
isted of different size, shape and position was analyzed by using Finite Element Method (FEM) while the lightning
impulse voltage,VFTO and power frequency voltage were imposed on it respectively. The surface electric field dis⁃
tribution of basin⁃type insulator, the normal and tangential electric field intensity along the surface of radial distri⁃

over field strength of basin⁃type insulator which has no metal particles, it provides the reference for the insulation
design of GIS. Key words: basin⁃type insulator; metal particles; surface electric field; flashover

Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautic, Nanjing 210016, China)
Abstract: With the constant increase of switching frequency in power electronic devices, the reliable operation of
permanent AC servo drives working in sophisticated occasion is more and more easily influenced because of EMI
produced by the mutual action of higher du / dt and di / dt with parasitic parameters. EMI modeling plays an impor⁃
tant role in analyzing, predicting and suppressing EMI. Therefore, a method of predicting common mode EMI (CM
EMI) in permanent magnet AC servo drives is explored in this paper. As far as the IPM equipment in a typical sys⁃
tem is concerned, its voltage of mid⁃leg jumps constantly. An equivalent model of CM EMI noise source is presen⁃
ted by analyzing that phenomenon. The propagation path of CM EMI is stated, and then the high frequency parame⁃
ters of the main parts (including the power converter, shielded cable and Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor
(PMSM)) are extracted with different methods. In 150kHz ~30MHz frequency range, actual measurement of CM
EMI is completed. Compared with the simulation result, the validity of the proposed model is confirmed finally.
The EMI noise of the prototype is measured. A method to suppress the noise is proposed, in which a planar EMI
filter will be used. The final experimental measurement shows that this filter can greatly reduce the noise in this sys⁃
tem.

Abstract: Computation of the instant inductance in transformer is concerned as a hot topic. Considering the DC⁃bi⁃
asing problem, the dynamic inductance of transformer is computed based on the energy⁃balanced principle. The e⁃
lectromagnetic coupled model is built. And the time⁃varying electromagnetic computation of transformer is decom⁃
posed into nonlinear magnetic and time⁃domain circuit. The dynamic inductance can be calculated from the system
energy by magnetic solving, while the time⁃domain current is computed by iteration of electrical circuit. By this
method, the electromagnetic characteristics of DC⁃biased transformer are simulated. The relationship between dy⁃
namic inductance and nonlinear excitation is analyzed under different DC disturbances. Experiment is carried out to
measure the parameters. Comparing the computed results with the experimental data shows consistency. And the
proposed method is valid for the related analysis for electromagnetic devices such as transformer.

Abstract: More and more people concern the electromagnetic environment caused by extra high voltage(EHV)
transmission lines when lines are near the residential areas. Thus, the measurement and calculation for the distorted
electric field around houses become a focus of study. However, studies are more emphasized on theoretical calcula⁃
tions while most of the measurements are focused on the single component of the power frequency electric field. And
the validity measurement distance between the probe and the house is not definite. In this paper, the different com⁃
ponents of the field near a house under a 500kV transmission line is measured by the EFA⁃300 electromagnetic ana⁃
lyzer and calculated by a 3D Finite Element Method (FEM) model in ANSYS. The results verify the correctness of
measurements and simulations. Then the distribution characteristics of distorted electric field are summarized and
through the comparison of measurements and simulations, and the fact that the house is not well grounded, which
may exists security risks, is found. Based on many results, it is found that the validity measurement distance of the
3D⁃electromagnetic analyzer is 0􀆰 5m or more away from the surface of the house.
