Abstract: For reliable and safe operation of lithium⁃ion batteries in electric vehicles, the modeling and parameter
estimation are urgently needed. The purpose of this work is to propose a novel subspace⁃based parameter identifica⁃
tion method for electric vehicle batteries. First, a state⁃space battery model is built based on the equivalent circuit
model. Then, the predictor⁃based subspace identification algorithm as well as the inverse M⁃sequence test method
are introduced to estimate the battery model parameters. In addition, some improvements including model order se⁃
lection, pulse width and amplitude optimization are made to improve the estimation accuracy. Finally, the perform⁃
ance of the model is validated through some validation test. Validation results show that the proposed subspace⁃
based identification method can achieve high accuracy with the least VAF being larger than 93􀆰 45%.

School of Electrical Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu 610031, China)
Abstract: When two inductors of quadratic Boost converter operate in continuous conduction mode (CCM), its
control⁃to⁃output transfer function has three right⁃half plane (RHP) zeroes and two high resonances peaks, which
increase the difficulty to design the compensator of control loop. This paper proposes a novel tri⁃state pseudo contin⁃
uous conduction mode (PCCM) quadratic Boost converter, its input inductor L1 operates in CCM, and its middle
inductor L2 operates in PCCM, which provides an additional degree of control⁃freedom, the two control loops were
controlled independently. It can not only simplify the design of the compensator of control loop, but also improve
the load transient response. At last, the experimental results are provided to verify the theoretical analysis results.

Constant on⁃time semi⁃hysteresis pulse train controlled Boost converter
LIU Shu⁃han, XU Jian⁃ping, SHA Jin
(Key Laboratory of Magnetic Suspension Technology and Maglev Vehicle, Ministry of Education,
School of Electrical Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu 610031, China)
Abstract: For pulse train (PT) controlled switching converter operating in continuous conduction mode (CCM),
the variation of energy stored in the inductor is not zero in a switching cycle, i. e. the power from the input power
source is not completely delivered to the load in one switching cycle, which makes low⁃frequency oscillation to oc⁃
cur in the converter. In order to inhibit the low⁃frequency oscillation phenomenon existed in traditional PT con⁃
trolled switching converter operating in CCM, constant on⁃time semi⁃hysteresis pulse train (SHPT) control tech⁃
nique of switching converter is proposed. For SHPT controlled Boost converter operating in CCM, the variation of
energy stored in the inductor is zero in a switching cycle, i. e. the power from the input power source is completely
delivered to the load. Thus SHPT controlled CCM Boost converter can effectively inhibit the low⁃frequency oscilla⁃
tion. In this paper, SHPT controlled CCM Boost converter is studied. Experimental results show that SHPT control
technique can inhibit the low⁃frequency oscillation phenomenon effectively.

(1. Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering, Liaoning Technical University, Huludao 125105, China;
2. Fuxin Power Supply Company of Liaoning Power Co. Ltd., Fuxin 123000, China)
Abstract: Cell voltage imbalance of series⁃connected supercapacitor strings can decrease the energy storage level of
the capacitors and shorten its service life. The circuit topologies of traditional voltage balancing methods are com⁃
plex, and require a number of switching devices and magnetic components, so its size tends to increase. In view of
these deficiencies, a voltage balancing strategy is proposed in this paper, which is based on the combination of a
half⁃bridge inverter and a voltage multiplier that can automatically balance the voltage of capacitors, and the circuit
structure is simple. Furthermore, feedback control can be eliminated when the system is operated with a fixed
switching frequency and duty ratio. The supercapacitor voltage balancing model and its working principle are intro⁃
duced, and the voltage balancing principle is analyzed with the derived dc equivalent circuit. The simulation and
experimental results show that the proposed strategy has the advantage of fast equalization speed and can improve
the power conversion efficiency of the system obviously.

Optimal design of permanent magnet synchronous motor based on
hybrid Taguchi genetic algorithm
FENG Gui⁃hong, DING Hong⁃long
(School of Electrical Engineering, Shenyang University of Technology, Shenyang 110870, China)
Abstract: Hybrid Taguchi genetic algorithm (HTGA) is introduced in the optimal design of a PM motor in this pa⁃
per. HTGA gains local optimization ability from Taguchi, and gets global optimization ability from traditional GA.
As a result, it can find the solution to the problem faster and more precisely. Successfully applying HTGA to opti⁃
mization design can save a lot of computing time, shorten the development cycle and reduce the labor intensity of
designers. Offspring individuals of GA are generated by Taguchi method, so as to make sure that the stronger off⁃
spring characters can be inherited, which enhances the robustness of motor performance. A mathematical model of
PM motor is established in this paper, and the optimization algorithm is combined with a basic electromagnetic de⁃
sign program of PM motor. The optimization design program is applied to a PM motor electromagnetic design, and
calculation results show that properly applying HTGA in motor design process can achieve good optimization effects.

Shenyang University of Technology, Shenyang 110870, China)
Abstract: An important source of PMSM noise is magnetostrictive vibration of the magnetic core. Based on the pi⁃
ezomagnetic laws, a magentic⁃mechanical coupling model was proposed which can take the magnetostrictive effect
into account. Hypothetical and boundary conditions of the solving region were also provided. Using finite element a⁃
nalysis software, the vibration of a 11kW PMSM was calculated with ideal current supply and measured current sup⁃
ply, and what need to point out is the calculation was done considering only electromagnetic force or magnetostricive
effect and both of them. And then, the acoustic field distribution around the motor was analyzed. In order to verify
the model, the vibration and noise were studied experimentally. The validity of the proposed method was confirmed
by numerical calculation results and experimental results. Furthermore, this method which could help prediction the
noise level in PMSM design step and seek new denoise methods has great potential in the future application.

Abstract: Wind power connected to the grid will have impact to safe and stable operation of electric power system.
So power system stabilizer (PSS) installed in doubly⁃fed induction generator (DFIG) is considered, and the control
scheme of PSS along with flux magnitude and angle controller (FMAC) used in DFIG is proposed in this paper.
Stator electric power of DFIG is chosen as input signal of PSS, and output Power and voltage of the generator are
controlled by adjusting rotor flux vector magnitude and phase angle of DFIG. Under the situation of large disturb⁃
ance, the stability of wind power integrated system is researched, and the research results show that the proposed
DFIG⁃FMAC⁃PSS scheme in this paper is economic and feasible. Moreover this solution scheme of DFIG⁃FMAC⁃
PSS is superior to the PSS control scheme based on the conventional synchronous generator, and provides voltage
control, promotes damping and improves transient stability performance of wind power integrated system.

Studies on dielectric response characteristic parameters of
oil⁃paper insulation transformers
WANG Kai, CAI Jin⁃ding
(College of Electrical Engineering and Automation, Fuzhou University, Fuzhou 350108, China)
Abstract: This paper established the relationship between insulation condition of oil⁃paper insulated transformers
and dielectric response equivalent circuit based on the extended Debye model, and the change laws of return volt⁃
age characteristic parameters and polarization spectrum caused by variation of model (time constant or branch num⁃
ber) are simulated and analyzed. Simulation results show that the return voltage peak and dominant time constant of
polarization spectrum can be used as a criterion to the diagnosis of transformer insulation. The time constant of the
RC branch’s influence on polarization spectrum’s distribution is segmental, then the number of branches that own
different time constants has the different performances in the corresponding section of the polarization spectrum. If
the operating life is longer or the insulation status is worse of a transformer, the number of branches of its dielectric
response model would relatively increase. The relationship between transformers with different operation life and the
model number of branches is researched, and the calculation of polarization spectrum will be more consistent with
the transformer’s actual situation. So the judgments and researches on its status will be more accurate, and the op⁃
timum model parameters can be obtained.

Abstract: For analyzing the electromagnetic transaction of double⁃fed induction generator during three⁃phase dip in
detail, electromagnetic field theory and calculus of variations are used to establish the mathematic model of double⁃

Fault diagnosis in transformer based on entropy weighted
and grey incidence
ZHAO Feng, LI Shuo
(School of Electrical Engineering, Lanzhou Jiaotong University, Lanzhou 730070, China)
Abstract: Analysis of dissolved gas in oil is an important method to find the insulation fault of power transformer.
However, code deficiency exists in the gas ratio methods specified by the IEC standard complexity of fault diagnosis
for power transformer. In allusion to incomplete information of faulty insulation diagnosis in power transformer, a
model based on optimized weighted degree of grey incidence was put forward according to the problem. Firstly, the
entropy weight is used to determine objective weights of indices; then the model fault types are obtained by weigh⁃
ted degree of grey incidence. The combination of entropy weight with grey correlation analysis can fully utilize over
all information of DGA and give full play to the superiority of grey correlation that it is suitable for small sample e⁃
vents with a certain gray level, which overcomes shortcomings of original grey relation analysis, such as partial rela⁃
tion and information losing. The effectiveness of this model has been verified through the application of examples.

Abstract: The shape and position of electromagnet contact⁃surface have much effect on electromagnetic force in
high⁃pressure hydrogen storage bottle for hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and the relationship between the contact⁃surface
and electromagnetic force is complex and nonlinear. In order to improve the efficiency of finite element methods,
this article provides an optimization design method that deals with the complex relationship by support vector ma⁃
chine model to avoid a large number of finite element calculations. Authors of this article selected modeling sample
points in the design space by uniform design, and used the finite element method to calculate the electromagnetic
force of modeling sample points that have been selected. The non⁃linear model which indicates the relationship be⁃
tween shape and position of contact⁃surface of electromagnets and electromagnetic force is built by support vector
machine. The genetic algorithm is used to optimize the model to calculate the optimal surface shape and position,
and the optimization results are verified by the simulations and experiments. The result indicates that the optimiza⁃
tion method is effective.

Abstract: A fixed position ordered tree and fuzzy evaluation fault restoration algorithm for distribution network is
proposed to quickly restore power supply of the regions where power supply is interrupted. Through real⁃time distri⁃
bution network topology analysis and simplification, the authors construct the candidate sets of feasible restoration
plans satisfying the current and voltage constraints of the distribution system by applying fixed position ordered tree
technique; and based on the fuzzy technology evaluate each candidate set scheme using the following four criteria:
number of switching, amount of live load transfer, the feeder capacity margin and the maximum voltage drop. From
the weighted sum of the four indices according to the actual situation the optimal solution is found out to provide
auxiliary decision for the operation personnel. Calculation results of a certain distribution network show that this al⁃
