(Institute of Electrical Engineering, CAS, Beijing 100190, China)
Abstract: Baihetan hydropower station has 14 hydrogenerators with the unit capacity of 1000MW. On a global
scale, there are no experiences on design and manufacture of such huge hydrogenerators. There are a lot of techni⁃
cal problems to be solved, among which the selection of cooling mode is a very key problem. Firstly, this paper put
forward the general electromagnetic scheme of the air cooling and evaporative cooling hydrogenerators. Based on it,
we carried out the simulation of the electromagnetic field and got the distribution of the heat source. Secondly, we
carried out the simulation of the 3⁃D temperature field for the stator of generator with two kinds of cooling modes re⁃
spectively. Finally, we made comprehensive characteristic comparison between these two cooling methods from the
aspects of unit size, material consumption, the quantity of coolant usage and thermal performance, and the compar⁃
ison provides valuable reference for the future selection of cooling mode in the Baihetan unit bid.

(1. State Key Lab of Power Systems, Dept. of Electrical Engineering, Tsinghua University,
Beijing 100084, China; 2. Institution of Telecommunication Satellite,
China Academy of Space Technology, Beijing 100094, China)
Abstract: In this paper, the optimizations of buoy shape and array geometry are studied to improve the energy ab⁃
sorption efficiency of direct⁃drive wave energy converter (DDWEC) and to smooth the output power fluctuations.
The hydrodynamic model of DDWEC is derived and analyzed, therefore, the optimization rules of hydrodynamic pa⁃
rameters are summarized. Based on the rules, the optimization measures of buoy shape are proposed, and then the
hydrodynamic software WAMIT is used to simulate and verify the improvement of the energy absorption efficiency.
Meanwhile, considering buoys interactions, the array geometry of wave farm is optimized to mitigate power fluctua⁃
tions and weaken the buoys interactions (such as shadowing effect), based on the optimization results of buoy
shape. As a result, the energy absorption of wave farm is increased.

(Faculty of Electrical and Control Engineering of Liaoning Technical University, Huludao 125105, China)
Abstract: In order to solve the problem that traditional single⁃channel intrinsic safety switching converter can not
satisfy the electrical characteristics and the intrinsic safety characteristics at the same time, the interleaving magnet⁃
ic integrated theory is introduced into the intrinsic safety switching converter in this paper. Take the interleaving
magnetic integrated Boost converter as an example, by analyzing the output intrinsic safety characteristics and the
inner⁃intrinsic safety characteristics of the converter, the output intrinsic safety criterion and the inner⁃intrinsic safe⁃
ty criterion can be obtained. Comparing its intrinsic safety characteristics and the electrical characteristics with the
traditional single⁃channel Boost converter under the condition of meeting the requirements of the electrical charac⁃
teristics and the intrinsic safety characteristics, it concludes that the interleaving magnetic integrated Boost convert⁃
er can improve the electrical characteristics and the intrinsic safety characteristics effectively. Finally, the theory is
verified by the experimental results. Key words: electrical characteristics; intrinsic safety characteristics; magnetic integration; output intrinsic safety

(Key Lab of Power Electronics & Motion Control, Anhui University of Technology, Ma’anshan 243002, China)
Abstract: Taking transformer leakage inductance, extra oscillation inductance and parasitic parameters of diodes
into account,an equivalent model of rectifier bridge current commutation after secondary winding of the transformer
has been built combining with the characteristics of phase⁃shift full⁃bridge circuit of EV charger. Then mechanism
of the parasitic oscillation and influences by different parameters has been analyzed. Aiming at the parasitic oscilla⁃
tion, composite network of snubber circuits has been designed to depress the voltage spike, in which buffer circuit
after secondary winding and clamping circuit before primary winding has been adopted. In contrast to common strat⁃
egies, superiority of the method has been discussed. The simulation on Matlab and hardware experiment have
proved that the designed 18kW phase⁃shift FB converter with the composite network snubber circuits can decrease
the voltage spike efficiently, meeting the demands of high stability for high power EV charger.

Abstract: In order to evaluate the various combinations of microgrid more objectively, the microgrid planning eval⁃
uation index system have been proposed under new situation. The index system is divided into the microgrid plan⁃
ning strategic benefit index and the microgrid planning fundamental construction index. The strategic benefit index
considered demand and profit of three kinds of microgrid investor including grid corporation, independent power
producer and consumer of microgrid. The infrastructure indicators using a combination of qualitative and quantita⁃
tive indicators to analyze the performance of the microgrid. The two parts of the index system are well focused and
strongly complementary. Using the combination method of analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and fuzzy comprehen⁃
sive evaluation, through three microgrid planning projects by HOMER planning and design, results show that the
proposed index system and method are effective and feasible.

parameter identification
ZHANG Jin⁃long, QI Han⁃hong
(School of Electrical Engineering, Yanshan University, Qinhuangdao 066004, China)
Abstract: In order to correctly estimate the state of charge (SOC) of valve regulated lead⁃acid battery under actual
engineering applications, an improved SOC estimation method based on a commonly used equivalent battery model
is presented. Unlike the battery model with constant parameters, a two⁃dimensional parameter identification strategy
is employed, and model parameters are identified under different SOC state and different discharge rates. Identifi⁃
cation results show that there are noticeable differences among parameter values under different conditions. After a⁃
dopting this two⁃dimensional parameter identification strategy, the estimated SOC can track the ideal SOC curve
more correctly; the subsequent experimental results of this SOC estimation method are satisfactory, accurate and
practical.

Abstract: The frequency of a wireless power transfer (WPT) system via magnetic coupling resonant is very impor⁃
tant because it can be the limitation of the efficiency and the maximum transfer power of the WPT system. In this
paper, the frequency characteristic of a WTP system via magnetic resonant coupling is explored. A simulation mod⁃
el is build based on the self inductance parameters and the mutual inductance parameters under different transfer
distances. Using this model, efficiency and output power are researched when system frequency is changing. An
output power controlling method is proposed by adjusting the system frequency, and the method is proved to be ef⁃

Abstract: Reliability of composite power system has been traditionally divided into two separate components,
namely, security and adequacy. Therefore, the two obtained sets of reliability indices are incomparable and nonuni⁃
form. This paper presents new comprehensive framework of algorithm and a set of indices based on sequential
Monte⁃Carlo simulation approach. It is shown that the proposed new integrated model combined with self organizing
map (SOM) neural network and sampled states absorption technology results in a significant reduction in the com⁃
putational effort required to compute reliability indices. All fault types and performance of protection scheme are
considered in the new model that can reflect the stochastic nature of power system behavior accurately. The validity
of the developed integrated algorithm is shown by numerical results of the IEEE⁃RTS test system.

(Control Science and Engineering College of Hebei University of Technology, Tianjin 300130, China)
Abstract: This paper presents a particle swarm optimization⁃difference evolutionary algorithm that aims to solve the
flaws of easy plunging into local optimum and it is applied for reactive power optimization. In the algorithm each
particle keeps track of the third value which is created by the mutation operator of DE algorithm besides the best
previous position found so far by itself and the best previous position among all particles. Besides, the velocity is
reinitialized and the dimension of the personal best position is mutated by mutation operator of DE algorithm if the
dimension of one particle’s veloeity of PSO algorithm is smaller than the specified value. Through the establishment
of reactive power optimization mathematical model, the proposed algorithm optimizes IEEE 30⁃bus system through
the Matlab programming, and compares with particle swarm optimization and genetic algorithm. The optimized re⁃
sults show that the proposed algorithm has better search capability and higher degree of convergence for reactive
power optimization, and can control system according to the optimized results and hit the mark of decrease transmis⁃
sion loss and improve the quality of voltage level.

Abstract: Access of wind power makes the distribution network to change from a single power supply and radiation
structure to a network with more than one power supply, and that will have a greater impact on the original relay

Abstract: In order to solve the contradiction between the convergence rate and steady⁃state error of conventional
LMS algorithm, an improved LMS algorithm is proposed in this paper. The contributions of this paper are: (1) the
proposed method applies the preset band⁃pass filter into the input signal link to improve the value of the autocorrela⁃

of aberrant current. The simulation results of the proposed method show that the proposed method has a faster con⁃

Abstract: The transient processes of different types signal⁃phase⁃to⁃earth fault in resonant grounded system are dif⁃
ferent, thus it is very difficult to find a generally applicable method. By analyzing the transient characteristic of res⁃

factor T and Hilbert time⁃frequency entropy S as the fault characteristics, and use support vector machine to classify
fault category. Build up the proper line detection criterions for different fault categories to achieve targeted ground⁃
ing line detection. Simulation results show that the proposed approach for fault line detection could adapt to various

and artificial neural network algorithm the noise control system’s reference input signal is predicted. Then, accord⁃
ing to the principle of wavelet de⁃noising high⁃frequency interference noise caused by the surrounding environment
is removed which is included in the mixed noise into the error sensor, and the residual noise is fed back to the sys⁃
tem controller. Finally, using genetic algorithm the parameters of wavelet neural network in the system controller
are optimized, and optimal control of substation noise is achieved. Through the simulation of substation transformer
vibration and noise data, the results show that the improved method can effectively improve the system noise track⁃
