XIAO Li⁃ye, LIN Liang⁃zhen
(Key Laboratory of Applied Superconductivity, Institute of Electrical Engineering,
Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100190, China)
Abstract: With the increasing development of renewable energy, it is expected that the renewable energy
would become the dominant energy of the power grid. As the electric power from renewable energy is quite
different from that of the traditional energy in controllability and availability, resulting in great challenges
for AC power grid, it is recognized that the DC operation mode for power grid would be required in the fu⁃
ture. For this reason, the superconducting power transmission would be a promising solution for future DC
power grid dominated by renewable energy. In this paper, the state⁃of⁃art of superconducting DC power
transmission is reviewed, and the challenges for HVDC superconducting power transmission are discussed.

(College of Electrical Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu 610031, China)
Abstract: The seven⁃phase adjustable speed drive system has drawn more attention because of its typical open –
phase fault operation in recent years. Based on the DSP TMS320F28335 and the SVPWM of three⁃phase voltage
source inverter, three kinds of SVPWM of 7⁃phase voltage source inverter are proposed in this paper. The control
strategy, realization process and harmonic elimination analysis is verified by simulation and experiment results re⁃
spectively. The current has a plenty of harmonic content in SVPWM I; with the space decompsition, the compsitive
vector in 3rd and 5th harmonic subspace has been reduced remarkably, and the 3rd harmonic content and 5th har⁃
monic content has been eliminated in SVPWM II and SVPWM III. And these SVPWM methods based on DSP28335
could be easily used in other m(odd number)⁃phase system. Key words: seven⁃phase; space decomposition; space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM); harmonic elimi⁃

(Key Laboratory of Control of Power Transmission and Conversion (Ministry of Education),
Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai 200240, China)
Abstract: A novel zero voltage switching full⁃bridge inverter circuit is proposed. Only an active⁃clamp soft⁃switc⁃
hing branch into the single H⁃bridge inverter circuit’s dc link side is added, which can achieve zero⁃voltage switc⁃
hing (ZVS) of all switching devices, and inhibit the anti⁃parallel diode reverse recovery current of the main switc⁃
hing devices to reduce the inverter switching losses and reverse recovery loss. This inverter can use common Pulse
Width Modulation (PWM). At the same time the inverter can use less devices and simple structure. A detailed a⁃
nalysis of the soft switching process is given, and theoretically calculate the requirement of the soft⁃switching
branch. The operational waveforms of the inverter at positive half⁃cycle and the stage analysis of the inverter at posi⁃
tive half⁃cycle are given to help understanding. Before the testing machine is built, the Saber simulation software is
carried out to verify the correctness of the theoretical analysis. At last a 300W testing machine is built for experi⁃
ment to test and verify. Key words: active⁃clamp; soft⁃switching; full⁃bridge inverter; zero⁃voltage switching

(Key Laboratory of Power Electronics and Electric Drive (Institute of Electrical Engineering),
Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100190, China)
Abstract: High⁃power applications of cascaded multilevel inverter to active power filters (APF) is hindered by the
problem of keeping capacitor voltage balance while retaining good filtering performances. This paper proposes a no⁃
vel control method with capacitor voltage balancing control for high power active power filters (APF) using casca⁃
ded multilevel converter. This method not only can balance the capacitor voltages of cascaded multilevel converter
using for APF, but also has the better filtering characters. Firstly, the system topology of APF using cascaded mul⁃
tilevel converter is described in detail. Secondly, the control method of APF using cascaded multilevel converter is
discussed. Thirdly, a laboratory prototype of the APF based on five⁃level cascaded multilevel inverter is built, rated
at 100kVA, to verify the capacitors voltage regulation and the harmonic filtering performance. Lastly, the experi⁃
mental waveforms show that good filtering characteristics of the APF are achieved and the capacitor voltage is also
controlled and balanced by using the proposed control methods. Key words: active power filters; cascaded multilevel converter; capacitor voltage balancing regulation

module current is analyzed, the forming principle of differential module inductance and common module inductance
is elaborated and the equivalent circuit is finally obtained. The superiorities of inductance characteristics and im⁃

(College of Electrical and Information Engineering, Hunan University, Changsha 410082, China)
Abstract: The basic principle of modal analysis was showed; the unique winding structure of the inductive filtering
transformer was described; and the reasons of vibration and noise of the inductive filtering transformer were ana⁃
lyzed. According to the actual parameters of inductive filtering transformer, the finite element models of winding and
core were established; the modal frequencies and corresponding mode shapes of winding and core of inductive filte⁃
ring transformer were calculated by finite element analysis software, and the calculated modal frequencies and mode
shapes were consistent with the measured results. A comparative analysis is made for the vibration waveforms of in⁃
ductive filtering transformer core and traditional converter transformer core by experiments. The results show that
the primary frequency of inductive filtering transformer winding is in the range of 2500 ~4200 Hz, and the most of
modal shapes are bendings in the end of winding. The primary frequency of inductive filtering transformer core is in
the range of 300 ~2700 Hz, and the most of modal shapes are bendings in the end of core and the center of yoke.
The vibration of inductive filtering transformer is markedly lower than that of the traditional converter transformer. Key words: inductive filtering transformer; modal analysis; core; winding; finite element analysis; vibration

Abstract: In this paper, a novel energy management control strategy is proposed for a solar electric car, which uses
the coordination control between the photovoltaic cell and lithium battery to maintain the DC bus voltage constant,
so as to guarantee the stability of the motor load. The paper used MATLAB simulation and the experiment, through
increasing or decreasing the load at DC bus terminals to detect the stability and reliability of the system. The simu⁃
lation and experimental results show that this control strategy not only maintains the stability of the DC bus voltage,
but also effectively protects the storage battery, which meets the requirements of the system.

(1. College of Electrical and Information Engineering, Jiangsu University, Zhenjiang 212013, China;
2. College of Electrical Engineering, Nanjing Institute of Technology, Nanjing 211167, China)
Abstract: According to the nonlinear coupling between radial force winding and generating winding in the conven⁃
tional bearingless switched reluctance generators, a novel 12/14 hybrid pole type bearingless switched reluctance
generators (BSRG) with short flux path is proposed. The proposed BSRG has separated suspending poles and gen⁃
erating poles. There are suspending windings placed on the suspending poles, while exciting windings and genera⁃
ting windings are placed on the generating poles. In this paper, after illustrating the basic structure and running
principle, its mathematical model is deduced based on the method of virtual displacement and the finite element
method analysis results of magnetic flux. At last, the magnetic performance is analyzed. The results show that the
subsystems of the suspending and generating are independent, then the suspending system can be separately con⁃
trolled. Key words: hybrid stator; mathematical model; bearingless switched reluctance generator; decoupling; finite⁃ele⁃

SHI Dun⁃yi, MIAO Xi⁃ren, GUO Mou⁃fa
(College of Electrical Engineering and Automation, Fuzhou University, Fuzhou 350108, China)
Abstract: By reviewing the existing methods for mechanical fault vibration signal of circuit breaker, a method that
combines EMD (Empirical Mode Decomposition) with fractal theory is presented for extracting feature value from
vibration signal of low voltage circuit breaker. Based on the typical object of low voltage circuit breaker for three⁃
phases switching asynchronism, not only the fault vibration signal feature is analyzed by the method of EMD com⁃
bined with fractal dimension, also the fault feature value of experimental and simulation data is provided with the
root⁃mean⁃square of fractal dimension. Firstly, EMD is used to decompose the vibration signal into a number of in⁃
trinsic mode functions (IMF). Secondly, the root⁃mean⁃square of fractal dimension is calculated for the vibration
signal and it’s every order IMF as the vibration signal feature value. Finally, the changing rule for the root⁃mean⁃
square of fractal dimension to simulated failure vibration signals is contrastively analyzed under different states. As
a result, the method is effective as fault diagnosis criteria for three⁃phases switching asynchronous of low voltage cir⁃
cuit breaker, and is effective to extract other kinds of mechanic fault vibration signals for circuit breaker.

Abstract: For accurately assessing the transfer characteristics of the air⁃core current transformer, the test scheme is
designed on its accuracy, saturation, frequency and transient characteristics. The test points are set according to
structure module of the transformer, and the characteristics of the each unit and the whole machine are studied.
The index of ‘total harmonic distortion rate’ under the ‘rated accurate low limit primary current’ is proposed so as
to evaluate its output waveform’s quality when the current is small. The experimental results show that the air⁃core
current transformer has good linearity when current is strong and is susceptible to interference with the small cur⁃
rent, the frequency band of current transformer is limited by the sensing coil parameters and phase frequency char⁃
acteristic of signal processing circuit, and the transmission errors of transient current and excitation inrush current
come from the measurement error of decaying DC component mainly. The research method can provide verification
for the improvement of manufacturer’s product design and related test standards.

Abstract: EMI filter plays an important role in restraining conducted EMI. Planar EMI filter has a decreased size
and high reliability in high frequency performance compared to passive discrete EMI filter. However, the planar

ZHANG Jin⁃long, QI Han⁃hong
(School of Electrical Engineering, Yanshan University, Qinhuangdao 066004, China)
Abstract: In practical applications, battery usually works in a nonlinear state and its equivalent model parameters
change with battery state of charge (SOC). In order to correctly estimate the model parameter of valve regulated
lead⁃acid battery, a particle swarm optimization (PSO) with evolutionary mechanism is employed based on a com⁃

lation, and the parameters under different SOC states are identified. Identification results are compared and it is
shown that with this hybrid PSO algorithm, the identified battery model can track the practical working performance
reasonably well, so a strong practicability of this algorithm is verified, and a systematic method for battery parame⁃
ter identification is established. Key words: lead⁃acid battery; particle swarm optimization (PSO); breeding mechanism; parameter identification

Abstract: As wind power is developing rapidly, the integration of wind fpower causes a large challenge to power
systems. Unlike traditional thermal power generation, wind power is fluctuated and random. Thus, it is very impor⁃
tant to understand the characteristics of wind power. This paper investigates wind power correlation based on practi⁃
cal data. In this study, complementary characteristics of wind farms, wind farm groups, and wind farm bases will
be obtained through correlation analysis of wind power. And this is beneficial for planning, security and stability of
power grids. Based on practical wind power data in Jiuquan wind base, correlation among wind farm groups and
wind power base in different time dimension from 1 h to 10 h has been analyzed through the correlation coefficient
method in this paper. Thus, variation rule of wind power correlation along with the time dimension has also been
analyzed. And the relationships between the upstream and downstream wind farms and wind farm groups have also
been obtained by analyzing the correlation coefficient of time⁃delay data, which is consistent with geological infor⁃
mation.

electric energy metering device test, the data of voltage, current, frequency, etc. , can be obtained. Combining with
the periodic inspection data, and taking into account influence of the actual power grid operation environment on the
accuracy and reliability of the energy metering device, the comprehensive evaluation can be made. A number of indi⁃
