Research Directions:Stability of superconducting magnets, AC losses, Quench detection and quench protection, Conduction cooled magnet system, Superconducting magnetic energy storage¡£
Education and Work Experiences:Graduated in 1983 from Huan University majored in Electrical Engineering. In 1987 got Master¡¯s degree from Institute of Electrical Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences¡£In 1990-1992 visited Electrotechnical Laboratory and National Laboratory for High Energy Physics, Tsukaba, Japan. In 2002 got Ph. D. in Applied Superconductivity¡£
In 1987-1989 took part in ¡°Development of 300 KW Superconducting Homopolar Generator¡± and ¡°Development of Industrial Prototype High Gradient Magnetic Separator for Kaolin Clay¡±. During 90-92 staying in Japan, worked at Superconducting Fault Current Limiter, studied AC losses of superconducting wires with ultra fine filaments and inter-strand coupling losses in dipole magnets for high energy particle accelerators. After come back to China, engaged in fundamental research of applied superconductivity for electric utility use. In the years studying for Ph. D., studied influences of inter-strand contact properties on stability of multi-strand superconducting cables. Started to develop cryogen-free superconducting magnet systems in 2002. In 2007 stayed in Scientific Magnetics, Oxford, UK, worked on AMS-02 magnet system.
Projects: Development of 300 KW Superconducting Homopolar Generator
 Development of Industrial Prototype High Gradient Magnetic Separator for Kaolin Clay
 Fundamental Research of Applied Superconductivity for Electric Utility Use
 Development of a 10 T Cryogen-free Superconducting Magnet System
 Design of Current Leads for a 100 KW HTc Superconducting Motor
 Manufacture of High-homogeneity Cryogen-free Superconducting Magnet Systems
 Development of zero LHe boiling-off Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage Systems
Main Achievements:The Ph. D dissertation demonstrated theoretically the supposition that it was the differences in inter-strand contact properties between different batch of Rutherford cables that had led to the great differences in ramp rate limitation behaviour of the prototype dipole magnets for SSC High Energy Booster.
